Postpartum Doula Program

Taking care of a newborn can be magical and at the same time, totally overwhelming. You have to think about breastfeeding/bottle-feeding/pumping, burping, changing diapers, swaddling, baby-wearing, and the list goes on. And while you’re brain is functioning on overdrive with very little sleep, you also have yourself to take care of. Are you eating, drinking, resting, healing, bathing? Are you feeling happy, sad, overwhelmed, emotional? Are you in any kind of pain or discomfort? There’s a lot going on.

As a Postpartum Doula, I’m here to help support you through it all in an integrated way, incorporating newborn care, physical recovery, nutrition, and a healthy mindset. Whether it’s helping manage your aches/pains, preparing healthy meals, helping support your breastfeeding/bottle-feeding journey, helping baby move towards a flexible schedule so you can anticipate their needs, and set up healthy sleeping habits. My job is to be your advocate and help make your transition to motherhood as smooth as possible.

My services can include a combination of the following:

  • Planning for Postpartum (who’s in your village? what kind of support will you need? what kind of birth are you hoping for?)

  • Nutritional Guidance (what foods are best for nursing? meal planning, grocery shopping, food prep, for healthy, easy, postpartum meals)

  • Newborn Care (you’re home from the hospital - now what? how much should the baby be eating/sleeping/pooping? creating new routines!)

  • Lactation Support (what position should I hold the baby in? why isn’t the baby latching? should it feel this way?)

  • Postpartum Rehab (rehabilitative movements for the first 6 weeks before you’re “cleared” for exercise, and beyond)

  • Sleep Support (how to actually get some!)
